New Alarm Manager launched for ObSys

North ObSys

Following feedback from our customers, North announce improved alarm handling in ObSys. The new Alarm Manager offers additional functionality in receiving, silencing and managing alarm events.

Alarm Manager can be engineered with up to four alarm lists, where alarms are stored as they arrive. From the Alarm Manager window you can then sort the alarms in each list, silence, delete, and view associated information for each alarm.

Alarm Manager connects to ObServer, and contains several modules that include:

  • Local storage of alarms - up to 4 lists of 4096 alarms.
  • Alarm annunciation - play WAV files by alarm priority, restore window if minimised.
  • ObSys Alarm Database interface - trigger files associated with an alarm.
  • ObSys Security interface - security levels configurable per list and priority.
  • Archiving of deleted alarms - deleted alarms exported to a comma separated value (csv) file.

Alarm Manager offers a single site solution for the management of alarm events, often replacing the need for AlmStore, AlmView, AlmFile and Announce modules.
