Notifier Fire Systems is one of the foremost manufacturers and suppliers of equipment for fire detection systems in the world. The new Notifier driver is an interface for Notifier's fire alarm control panels that support the ID3000 serial communications protocol. At present this includes the ID3000 series, the ID2000 series, the ID1000 series and the ID50.

The Notifier driver enables any ID3000 compatible panel to be integrated with hundreds of other building systems via North's integration products. Using North's software allows any alarms generated by the panel to be routed to multiple useful destinations. For example, an alarm could be sent to a GUI, saved to a text file, sent as a SMS message, and delivered to a printer.

The fire panel can be viewed for faults at any level. Any faults generated by the panel are stored by the driver and can then be accessed either by addressing a particular detector, viewing a loop, viewing a zone, or the viewing the panel as a whole. This data can then be integrated with any of the other building systems that are compatible with North's products. For example, as soon as an alarm is generated, a warning message can be delivered to a PC, whilst the GUI indicates the physical location of the detector. By using transfers a CCTV system will automatically select an appropriate camera to allow remote viewing of the area in question, and the door entry system can be overridden allowing people to exit the area quickly.

The panel can also be controlled remotely. The Notifier driver allows a panel to be reset, set to evacaute, and the alarms or the intrnal buzzer can be silenced. The driver can communicate to a stand-alone panel, or to a Master panel with up to seven slaves.
