EnOcean manufactures and markets world-leading energy harvesting technology, sensors, and RF (radio frequency) communication in a single solution for building and home automation, lighting, industrial, automated meter reading and environmental applications. EnOcean technology allows for products such as wireless and batteryless light switches, PIR detectors, Relay modules, door contacts, temperature sensors and controllers.

The new interface from North allows any North system (or North compatible system) to monitor and control wireless IO in real time, without the need for batteries in most devices, at a price point which competes favourably against running cables.

Application ideas

• Last man out switch in domestic environment.. A switch by the door and/or by the bed that turns all of the lights, VCR, TV screens and other devices off or on in the building, including a safe power down of PC's.
• Temperature and alarm sensing in listed buildings.. Such as Museums or Stately homes where pulling new cables is not possible, but careful monitoring of artifacts for Temperature, hunidity and even security is necessary.
• Sensing for large commercial buildings.. Wireless sensors are more expensive to buy individually, but when the cost of pulling cables and installation is factored in, huge savings can be made.

The ObSys user interface gives the management access to over ride the automated system and allows engineering staff full control over the plant, monitoring and control systems within the building.
