North release Lutron interface.

ObSys 2.0 Lutron were the first company to manufacture solid state lighting dimmers back in 1961. Lutron have since gone on to become the world’s leading manufacturer of intelligent lighting control systems. The Lutron Homeworks system provides control for high end domestic lighting, blinds and Audio Visual systems.

North's new interface allows access to control lighting levels, by taking control of a dimmer module. It is also possible to and take control of buttons on keypads. A graphical representation of a real or virtual keypad can be created in WebView, even the keypad LED status can be read back and displayed.

Application Ideas

  • Use the Lutron keypads to control North's under floor heating Zip modules
  • The Lutron keypads could be used to communicate with 3rd Party HVAC controllers
  • Utilise Lutron keypads to control Daikin, Mitsubishi, Hitachi or Sanyo Air conditioning systems
  • Use WebView to provide a full web based user interface to the lighting system. Giving the occupier the ability to adjust lighting levels whilst abroad for security and energy management purposes
  • Strategy in North's OBVengine could be used to automatically take account of solar gain on perimeter lighting for energy management purposes

The Lutron interface is available for Compass, Commander, and ObSys 2.0.
