To help you if you encounter difficulties scanning the Compass Network, we have compiled the most frequently asked questions.
If you can only see one Compass Point when you scan the Compass Network then it is most likely that the Device Number has not been set up within the COL Compass point.
Click on the Compass Point object that you can see in ObView. Select Memory Locked and change its value to 'No'. Once the memory is unlocked enter a value for the Device Number. Remember that the Device Number is set to zero by default and should have a unique number of it's own. This should be in the range 1 to 63. Once this is done, lock the memory again and reset the Compass Point by selecting Reset Compass Point and changing it the value to 'Yes'.
It is good practice to set up the Point Label. For example, if this Point is the engineering Point, the Point Label could be set to 'COL Point'. If you are attached to a 3rd party device, or the Compass Point is an enhancement driver, enter the name of that particular device or enhancement driver as the Device Label.
Return to the Compass Network Object List and then scan. Refresh the page. You can now see the recently configured Compass Point plus the other Compass Points that form the Compass Network. Other points will now be seen as just an icon and serial number. Go into each Point and repeat the process of engineering each Point. Remember that each Point must have a unique device number.
