OBVEngine Basic Engineering Course Contents
Overview
The goal of this course is to provide engineers with the knowledge and skills
necessary to install, engineer, and support OBVEngine process control.
This is a practical based course, designed upon the job-related tasks an engineer
must perform.
Duration: 1 day
Target Audience
This course is aimed at specialist control engineers and requires completion of at least one other North product based Basic Engineering Course.
Candidates should have experience of engineering North product.
Course Contents
The course includes:
- Introduction to the North range of products -
Brief history of the company; Where does OBVEngine fit?; XOM...
- Introducing OBVEngine -
System Overview; Introduction to hardware/software;
- Types of OBVEngine -
Compass; ObSys; Commander
- Using ObView as Object Engineering Software -
ObSys Overview; Introduction to "objects" concept
- Introduction to "functions & properties" modules concept -
Basic process design; Reading & writing to / from remote objects
- Using OBVEngine for general process control
- Introduction to specialist OBV modules
Lunch will be provided at midday, and refreshments will be available during the day.
Prerequisites
We recommend that engineers bring along their laptop PC.
