Crestron Interface

Schematic showing Crestron interface

The Crestron interface links the Crestron 2-Series home automation system to North's Extensible Object Model. The interface provides values to the Crestron control system from any device connected to the North extensible object model. Values may also be adjusted from the Crestron system and passed to connected devices; such as a temperature setpoint, control of lighting, air conditioning, etc.

The interface is available for the ObServer platforms. For these platforms, the values available to the Crestron system are provided by the North user database module. This module can be configured to read or write up to 960 values (depending on platform) from any device connected to the extensible object module.

The interface is also available for the Compass platform. For this platform, the values available to the Crestron system are provided by Compass transfers. Compass transfers can be configured to read or write up to 100 values from any device connected to the extensible object module.

Crestron have developed a software module for the 2-Series engine that works in conjunction with this interface, providing easy access to the values available. This software is available either from Crestron UK, or from the North download site.

Supported Range
