Modbus and JBus Interface

Schematic showing the JBus interface connected to the North Object Model The JBus interface links equipment that supports the standard JBus and Modbus protocols to North's Extensible Object Model. The interface is a master device on the JBus network and can read and write values to the connected (slave) devices, depending on the JBus functions supported by the device. The interface supports both RTU and ASCII transmission modes.

Extended decode methods are available that allow the JBus device register values to be rescaled to engineering units. The JBus interface may be attached to up to 31 JBus devices.

Supported Range

The JBus interface can communicate with any system supporting JBus or Modbus slave protocol in either binary (RTU) or ASCII mode.

Supported devices include:

Autoflame DTI boiler/burner controls - up to 10 Micro Modulation (MM) units can be connected to the DTI along with up to 10 Energy Gas Analyser (EGA) units. In addition, up to 10 Analogue I/O and up to 10 digital I/O units can be connected.

Daikin DBACS Air Conditioning - connect to the DBACS air conditioning control system, via the Modbus option, which operates on a Windows PC.

Stulz CompTrol Air Conditioning - compatible with the Stulz CompTrol 1001, 1002, 4000, 5000 and 7000 controls via the Stulz Multifunction interface board (MIB) fitted with the optional Modbus firmware. Up to 31 Stulz units can be linked to a single MIB.

Trane chiller controls - connects to the Trane GCI fitted with the Modbus option.

ABB ACS variable speed drives - communicates with the ABB ACS 600 variable speed drive via the ABB NMBA-01 Modbus adapter.

ABB DCS variable speed drives - communicates with the ABB DCS range of variable speed drives via the ABB Modbus interface.

Enercom EMA - links to the EMA (Electrical Multifunction Analyser) from Enercom, supporting the JBus protocol.

IME Nemo 96 Power Measurement unit

Northern Design PM390 power meter

Power Measurement power monitor - connects to both the Power Measurement (PML) 3300 ACM and 7300 Ion power monitors.

Schneider Digipact PM300 power meter

Socomec - communicates with the Socomec Diris Ap power meter and Socomec UPS systems.

Starkstrom Circutor power meters

Swegon Gold AHU

Deep Sea Electronics - communicates with the Deep Sea Electronics model 55x generator.

FG Wilson generators

Merlin Gerin Galaxy PW UPS

Duemmegi Conatto IO system - communicates with the Duemmegi Contatto MCP plus controller supporting the JBus protocol.

TraceTek Leak Detection Systems - communicates with the TraceTek Sensor Interface Module (SIM) and TraceTek TTDM leak detection and location system.

Elcontrol Energy Meters - communicates with the Elcontrol Energy Net STAR3, STAR3din, VIP396, VIP396din, DMM3, SIRO and ED39din energy meters..
