The LogMax interface provides data logging for devices connected to North's Extensible Object Model (XOM).
It stores the data collected in a format that allows other XOM compatible software, such as the LogView application, to access the logged data.
The LogMax interface uses exception logging, and only logs values that have changed by a specified significant amount from the previously logged value. In this way, values that remain constant do not consume storage space unnecessarily.
Each of the loggers within the LogMax can accept either single values, or log data from another logger. This allows loggers to be 'daisy-chained'. For example, one LogMax could be fitted to a server PC to log values every minute, and another fitted to a manager's PC – the manager's PC could collect the logged data from the server PC loggers every 24 hours. Each logger can also send its log data to another logger when the data store becomes full.
The LogMax interface can log any numerical object value accessible via the North XOM.
The LogMax interface is available on the following North platforms:
| CP/LOGMAX/MRTC | Compass Point with LogMax interface |
| OSM/LOGMAX | OSM available with all ObSys editions |
