ModbusTCP Interface

Schematic showing Modbus TCP/IP interface

The ModbusTCP interface links equipment that supports the standard Modbus protocol over TCP/IP to North's Extensible Object Model. The interface is a master (client) device on the Modbus TCP/IP network and can read values from and write values to connected (server) devices.

Extended decode methods are available that allow the Modbus device register values to be rescaled to engineering units. The ModbusTCP interface can communicate with up to thirty devices.

Supported Range

The ModbusTCP interface can communicate with server devices supporting the Modbus TCP/IP protocol. Devices supporting Modbus RS232 or RS485 may be connected to the TCP/IP network via a serial router. Alternatively the Modbus RS232/485 interface is also available.
