The Phone interface links a PABX system with a CDR (Call Data Recording) output to North's Extensible Object Model. The interface was designed to be used in conjunction with the PhoneMem interface to control lighting levels in building zones, but could be used for any purpose that requires a phone extension to control a local value in the range 0...100.
The Phone system receives CDR records. These include the originating extension number, which is used to generate the lighting zone, and the digits dialled, which is used to determine the lighting level. The lighting level is a value in the range 0…9, which is used to find a percentage value in a look-up table. This information is then sent to a to a PhoneMem interface.
The PhoneMem interface is used to store the lighting zones and their current levels sent from the Phone interface.
