The SNMP Trap interface provides a link between the North Extensible Object Model and a SNMP Trap receiver.
The interface can send SMTP trap events to a network management system (e.g. HP OpenView) via an IP network.
The SNMP Trap interface holds a number of states which may be set via any compatible XOM device (The Commander platform supports 100 Trap events and the OSM platform supports 250 events). The network management system will require a MIB file describing the trap messages: contact North for more information.
The SNMPTrap interface is available on the following North platforms:
| CMDR/ | Available with all Commander interfaces |
| OSM/SNMPTRAP | OSM available with all ObSys editions |
