The TelDial interface links a PBX system with DTMF (dual-tone multi-frequency) message input to North's Extensible Object Model. The interface acts as a phone dialler and dials a telephone number (using a modem) to trigger events within a compatible PBX.
The TelDial interface uses a table of alarm messages along with a corresponding number to dial.
When the interface receives an alarm message it checks the table and dials the corresponding number. The PBX should then be able to interpret this number dialled. For example, dialling '824235' may send the message 'Room 167 pendant call alarm' to extension 35.
PBX telephone systems that can accept DTMF input and convert this to an action.
