The TokenMax interface provides user authentication for users to other object software via North's Extensible Object Model. Compatible software includes ObView, WebView, Alarm Manager, Data Manager, door access control, etc.
For each user, the TokenMax interface stores the following information:
Logon ID and password
User name
Security group membership
User enabled
Valid period the user is valid
Additional privilege access levels
Last validation
Other XOM compatible devices, when given a token from a swipe-card or logon prompt, authenticate the token presented with the TokenMax interface and retrieve the name and access level for the user with this token. The device can then determine how to act, depending on whether TokenMax recognised the token.
Each user can be enabled or disabled either directly, via a date valid range, or via the user's group membership. If disabled, the TokenMax informs devices that the user currently has no privileges.
Each user can be a member of a several security groups. Each group contains privilege levels that are inherited by its members. The group can be also be enabled or disabled; if disabled, then any user within the group is effectively disabled.
The TokenMax interface is available on the following North platforms:
| CP/TOKENMAX/MRTC | Compass Point with TokenMax interface |
| CMDR/ | Available with all Commander interfaces |
| OSM/TOKENMAX | OSM automatically loaded with all ObSys editions |
