The North WebView module provides a link between the North Extensible Object Model and Web browsers. The WebView web server provides a quick route for providing simple HTML solutions, and also serve more complex HTML pages.
HTML pages can be generated automatically from a list of XOM objects configured within the server User Database module. Engineering the server requires little or no HTML knowledge.
Adjustable values on a page are hyperlinked to a 'form' page into which the user can enter a new value. If necessary, the server will ask for a username and password, and check this against an XOM security module before allowing browsers to access data. Compatible XOM security modules include the TokenMax and Locator drivers.
On the ObSys platform, complex HTML pages and content may be served. Tags specifying an XOM object reference can be embedded within an HTML or XML document. As the page is served, the XOM tags are replaced with the current object value.
On the Commander platform a fixed-function Web server is available, serving values only from the Commander's user database module. The server is compliant with W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
