The Locator interface module provides security and location information on up to 2000 users to other object software via North's Extensible Object Model. Locator is compatible with the Zip M7101A door access module.
For each user, Locator module stores the following information:
Name
General Security Level
Token
Group Number
Enable
Privilege Areas 1..8 Security Level
Location code
Other devices, when given a token (from a swipe-card say), requests from the Locator module the name and/or level for the user with this token. The device can then determine how to act, depending on whether Locator module recognised the token.
When a user is authenticated their new location within a building is stored by Locator.
Each user can be enabled or disabled via an object; if disabled, then Locator informs devices that the user currently has no privileges.
Each user can be a member of a group, and the group can be enabled or disabled; if disabled, then any user within the group is effectively disabled.
The Locator interface is available on the following North platforms:
| CP/LOCATOR/485 | Compass Point with Locator interface |
| OSM/LOCATOR | OSM available with all ObSys editions |
