RS232-RS485 Serial Converter

Manufactured by North, our RS232-RS485 Serial Converter seamlessly bridges standard RS232 signals and RS485 data networks. This module allows devices equipped with an RS232 port, such as ObSys and Commander, to interface effortlessly with third-party RS485 equipment and systems, such as Modbus.

Ideal for in-panel mounting alongside other North hardware, the module features a 0.5 m flying lead with a DB9 connector for the RS232 connection, alongside an isolated 2-way screw terminal for the RS485 bus.

Built-in isolation on the RS485 port protects your vital control equipment from ground loops and destructive voltage spikes. Communication settings are highly adaptable and simple to configure via an onboard 4-way DIP switch, which supports selectable baud rates up to 38400 baud and multiple data bit formats.
