Distributed measurement and control
Zip is North’s distributed measurement and control system, bridging the gap between a North Commander and physical equipment within your building. It is the perfect solution for bringing traditional hardware into your North control system.
Smart monitoring and control
A versatile range of Zip modules is available with a combination of inputs and outputs to match your infrastructure requirements:
- Inputs to read environmental data using volt-free contacts, thermistors, and 0-10 V analogue inputs.
- Outputs to adjust your equipment using relays, switched 12 V digitals, and 0-10 V analogue outputs.
- Fixed-function modules to handle specialised tasks, such as displaying local information or controlling a door access point.
Simplified setup
By placing modules exactly where your equipment sits, Zip eliminates the need for complex, centralized wiring layouts. The modules clip together seamlessly on a standard DIN rail, simplifying control panel layout and construction.
You can connect up to 16 modules on a single Zip network. To cover larger areas or entire facilities, North Commander can handle multiple Zip networks simultaneously for effortless scalability.
Part of the North control system
Commander provides the central logic control, powered by ObVerse, North’s graphical cause-and-effect language. This allows you to easily engineer complex logic, feedback control, and timer functions with direct, unified access to both Zip modules and third-party system values.
